Martine-Cécile Tchang-George

Martine Cécile Tchang-George, Switzerland

Born in Zurich, with French as a mother tongue, I had my first years of school at the French school in Zurich, then continued and finished my general education in German. Final exams (federal graduation diploma) type B. Higher education at the University of Zurich, faculty of Romance languages, including one semester at the University of Barcelona.
I have taught at different language teaching institutions, but I am mainly engaged in teacher training for French as a foreign language (FLE) and as an author of teaching materials for FLE (from primary to secondary level). I have attended several training courses, e.g. at CREDIF in Paris. I am also co-author of the Swiss ELP II (validated in 2005). At the moment, I am working for several German-speaking cantons of Switzerland as well as within the educational and cultural co-operation of the French Foreign Ministry (didactics, evaluation, introduction of textbooks, the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and the European Language Portfolio). Thus I am well-acquainted with meeting different cultures and educational systems.
